Elected to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha for the first time in 2022 Bathinda Urban Assembly Constituency. Prior to coming into mainstream politics, remained a practicing lawyer and was elected as President to the District Bar Association Bathinda from 1982-84. Remained, President, Municipal Committee, Bathinda from 1992-1997; Chairman of Improvement Trust, Bathinda from 2003-2007; Municipal Councillor from 1979 to 2022; and Chairman, District Planning Board, Bathinda. Remained, Chairman of the Committee on Local Bodies of Punjab Vidhan Sabha during 2022-23a and presently, Chairman of the Committee on Government Assurances of Punjab Vidhan Sabha for the year 2023-24.
