Elected to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha for the first time in 2007, then in 2017 and now in 2022 from Bholath Assembly Constituency. Remained, President, District Congress Commitee, Kapurthala; Member, Zila Parishad; President Farmers' Wing. During the 15th Punjab Vidhan Sabha, remained Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha from July 2017 to July 2018 and also remained Member of Various Committees of Punjab Vidhan Sabha; Chief Whip and Spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party. In the present term, member of the Committee on Panchayati Raj Institutions of Punjab Vidhan Sabha during the year 2022-23 and Committee on Subordinate Legislation and Committee on Questions and References of Punjab Vidhan Sabha for the year 2023-24.
